you can take a flught of 4 hours to arica on the peru border for aroun 100 dollars.. so you dont even have to leave the airport 😊

also try " pullman bus " but the website isnt working for me now something to do with my computer.

im sure you can just take a taxi direct from the airport to the respective bus terminal without having to know exactly where it is.... Reply to this

Once you arrive in the Santiago Airport you can either catch a taxi or a small bus called "transfer". Taxi drivers usually try to charge you more if they realize that you don't know the rates despite they have taxi meters. The price should be around CLP 8.000 (around USD 14) by taxi. By "Transfer" it is about CLP 6.000 (around USD 10). Transfer buses will take you to the place you want as a taxi. The attention desks are located on the first floor of the airport. A taxi ride is more convenient if you are two or three people, but if you travel alone a "transfer" could be a good option as they always charge fixed rates according to the district. If you take a taxi be careful of asking in advance the rate. For transfers please check the following link http://www.aeropuertosantiago.cl/medios-de-transporte-desde-y-hacia-scl/minibuses.html.

There are several bus terminals, but you can go up to TERMINAL SAN BORJA, which is near two other terminals. It is located in the main city's avenue (Alameda). There you can buy your ticket up to Arica. The other option could be trying to get at the same airport an air ticket to Arica at convenient rates. For domestic flights you don't need to buy round trip tickets.

That was a great tip with the airline. WHat is the 150 fee that you are talking about. Reply to this

we ended up walking to the pullman bus station and took a bus to arica. from there ya you take one of those taxis across, and they bring you to your bus station in tacna. 😊 the taxi driver takes your passports at one point, was a bit sketchy, but we got them back--all went well in the end. but pullman buses are super good...which we now compare to other bus lines here in peru. thanks all Reply to this

ha ya that pullman bus ride was around 30 hours long. but we got to see where we´d want to visit on our way back and they play lots of good movies and have great food from local little retarurants on the side of the road. here in peru we´ve taken the cruz del sur bus, it was good and has lots of high tech things to keep you feeling safe (gps, two swapping drivers) but they play a lot of crappy infomercials and the same cd over and over again and their food sucked balls(that was from cusco to lima). and we took the First Class bus from puno to cusco, it´s the same company as Inka express..that was cool cuz we got to get off and look at sights and a buffet lunch was included. but by far our worst ever bus was >San Martin! after that bus we veetoed paying a bit more for a better bus. cuz it was bbaaaadddd. lol like people crying cuz police came on searching for contrtoband goods, which many people had, because we were on a locals bus basically..we were the only tourists on it. ya what a poor use of san martin´s name lol but we´ll check linea and that other one for prices if you say they´re good. ciao!
