Hello Samantha 😊

In response to your private message, There are plenty of places for parents to stay with their kids in Thailand. You can just get a double room for around 5 Euros per night or else get a beach hut for the same price. There are more expensive and luxurous places to stay if you have money but no need. The staff of the most humble and inexpensive guesthouses were always incredibly welcomming to me and my daughter. I was in Thailand alone with her when she was 5 and then again when she was 6.

I wouldnt bother with booking or finding accomodation on websites. What you can book on the internet is always more expensive than what you can get if you just show up. I never prebooked and always was able to find someplace to stay.

If you are decided on Thailand (I highly recommend it as a place to take a child) then a copy of the Lonely Planet guide for Thailand may be a useful purchase for you. It costs around 40 Euros but is worth it for the information it gives. It will list accomodation as well as other information about transport, things to do etc.

Travelling with another parent would certainly have its advantages. There would be always somebody to watch the kids so one of you can go to the shops or the bathroom etc without the kid.

There is not much to fear in Thailand, even if you dont find a travel companion. As a parent with a little child, just about every Thai person will take it on themselves to watch out for you. When I was in Bangkok, I only had to indicate that I was crossing the street with a child for the entire streetful of traffic to stop. If you ever lose sight of your child, just say loudly ''my baby'' and your child will be back with you in seconds. As a parent travelling with a child you will be safe in Thailand.
