Any suggestions and recommendations on transportation, accomoddations and scuba diving will be greatly appreciated.
Hello everyone!
I'm in the early stages of planning a 6 to 7 week trip to Northern Queensland, Australia and then moving on through Southeast Asia starting from Montreal, Canada in Mid-January 2010.
I was wondering when the rainy season starts in that area of Australia since my girlfriend and I are planning on visiting the less touristy areas North of Cairns and needless to say, travelling so far from home we would like to have the best weather possible.
Information on budget and clean accomodations and most efficient mode of transportation in that area will be greatly appreciated.
I would also appreciate it if someone could recommend a reliable and not too expensive liveaboard company to do some scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef either out of Cairns, Port Douglas or Cape Tribulation.
I thank you very much in advance for your attention to this enquiry and look forward to reading your feedback.

Reply to this Hello Salvador,
The rainy season in Queensland is between mid-late November until late March-mid April.
The good thing with the raininy season is that usually you have clear, humid days followed by some spectacular afternoon storms, and then clear evenings. Problems arise when a cyclone or tropical low arrives, in which case, it will rain for days and cause regional flooding. We've just had a cyclone go through the area and it caused a lot of rain in the north - so transport through that area has been badly affected.
Cannot assist you on the scuba diving - hopefully someone else can.
