What do you think about marriage dowries? Are they a good or bad thing, in your opinion? If they are a custom in your country, which country do you come from and how does the dowry work? Who provides it, and what is it used for?

*In 2004, 58,319 dowry cases were registered.
*1,34,757 men were arrested.
*47,828 cases have reached the charge sheet stage.
*10,491 dowry cases were not charge sheeted as they were based on frivolous ground.
*However, 5,739 men have been convicted but more than four times that number have been acquitted (24,127)
when you fight separately...you get all riled up about a temple rule that asks its visitors to wear a traditional dress....failing to see that men are asked to dress conservatively along with women.
Also....one thing is for sure and that is....it is true that women discrimination is far far more than men...no doubt about it....but laws that protect women with no responsibilities attached to it have to go.
If a women is found to have made a false statement in the court of law she should be treated just as men and jailed.
Men should have a way to redress their pain in and safegaurds should be put in to give them a chance to defend themselves.
That atleast is humane and fair.

Which countries are you taking about? We dont even have a dowry system over here and perjery is perjery with the same consequences, no matter what adult does it here.
Reply to this I am talking about India....as you can see in the report above...women here can put up false cases on her husband and lie under oath and still go scott free.
That is the idea of liberating women here .....
