Any experience or advice on how to get from Brazilia-to-South Africa?

I think the cheapest way would be to trawl the cheap airlines websites for special offers. If you are flexible about when you go, you might score a cheap ticket.

Mel, thank you for the advice. 😊 We are very flexible and was considering traveling via Cargo ship as well... but yeah, I think checking daily for cheap airline tickets may be our best option.

As far as I know, ships tend to be more expensive, and a lot more expensive too.

Ships will more expensive.

You have only two options, Malaysian Airline from Buenos Aires to Cape Town and South African from Sao Paolo to JNB.

A one way ticket will be more expensive. You may try to find the cheapest return and ditch the way back.
