I'm interested in taking an extended length trip through central and south america. I would like to travel and volunteer at places along the way. I would like to be gone for at least a year. Is it feasible? any similar experiences?advice?
So the deal is that I would like to travel across Central and South America for an undetermined amount of time. Along the way I would like to volunteer and spend a few months in each country. I am wondering if something like this is feasible? If anybody has done something similar and have any advice? Info about me is that I am 23 and am well educated, I am open to all kinds of experience. Ultimately my dream would be to live abroad and volunteer for a couple of years. Any advice?
Reply to this think this is feasible. i volunteered in Sri lanka with projects abroad. I met fellow volunteers who volunteered with us and travel to different countries after their placement.
do intend to do independent volunteering?
Reply to this Have met many guys in Central/South America who traveled this way. They all enjoyed it very much! Visited SA myself last summer, also doing a combination of volunteering and traveling (though unfortunately did have a time limit) and had a great time!
(by the way, search for volunteer south america . net orso. It holds a list of free/cheap volunteering possibilities. Used it myself and am very positive about it. )
