General advice

Okay, this is my last post for the day! I'm meeting some acquaintances in Rio for Carnaval this February. I was thinking of arriving a few days before Carnaval, and leaving a few days afterwards.

I am looking for any and all advice!

- Should I book my accommodations now (I hear they will all get booked up soon)?
- Will it be hard to get a seat on a bus or plane to get in and out of Rio during that time?
- What do people actually do there during Carnaval - what should I try to see?

Thanks!

Emma.

Try booking NOW. I have been looking and 75% of what I have asked about have been fully booked. Reply to this

Yes - book asap - book a hostel which includes a ticket to the parade; one huge night out and amazing!

You'll probably have to take a weeks accommodation. Rio is awesome - you won't be bored at all during this period - when you're not at the carnival - there are street parties - great nights out, beaches, friendly people, huge football stadiums, stunning vistas etc etc.

Travel is difficult - half of the Cariocas (Rio locals) flood out of the city - so things will be heavily booked - but - the carnival is in my opinion one of the modern wonders of the world - worth every moment of effort - have fun!
