Getting from Argentina to Sao Paolo, and Sao Paolo to Rio

Hello all,

Does anyone have any advice on getting to Sao Paolo from Argentina, either by air or by bus? I'll be heading to Sao Paolo in mid-February. I'm assuming that I would have to travel through Buenos Aires to get to Sao Paolo, even if my starting point was elsewhere (say, Bariloche or Mendoza.)

Also, I need to get from Sao Paolo to Rio a couple of days before Carnaval. Should I fly or take the bus? Will the transportation situation be insane due to Carnaval?

Thanks - any advice is much appreciated!
