Hello
I have read a lot about getting turned away when entering Australia with a working holiday VISA if not having "sufficient" funds, is this really true?
If so, what do they regard as minimum funds?
I plan to enter the country with £800 with intentions on staying for a year. If i say i want to stay for about a month, they wouldn't turn me away would they?

Generally, AUD$5,000 may be regarded as sufficient, but the amount may vary depending on your length of stay and the extent of your travel. You should also have a return or onward ticket or the funds for a fare to depart Australia." (
Basically if you have a bank statement that proves that you have an account somewhere with more than A$5000 you should be fine. Reply to this Taken from

I plan to go to australia with a return ticket for 3 months after arrival and will go with $2k. Considering i would only be there for 3 months, sureley that would be enough?
Also has anyone ever actually been asked to prove their sufficient funds?
