Hello, guys and girls.

I am planning my backpacking trip to S.A during this winter, and need your help!

basically would any of you be able to explain me if there is any tour that depart from Uyuni and ends at Tupiza or Uyuni (preferbly 2 nights 3 days tour), and any information regarding expected travel duration from Uyuni to Salta Argentina.

I know that I will have to go to Villazon from Uyuni to catch a bus to Salta. How long does it take in total and how often do they operate?

any help will be appreciated.

thanks Reply to this

Hey,
I took a tour from Tupiza to Uyuni and it was absolutely amazing. totally recommend it but try be happy with the people in your jeep first cause that makes the tour also. You can take a tour from Uyuni and finish in Uyuni. Im not sure if any of them will drop you off in Tupiza though.
Reckon it´s around 6-8 hours from Uyuni to the border with Argentina. From Tupiza to the border is only 3 hours. Villazon is the Bolivian side and the Argie side is called La Quiaca. Buses run every few hours and if you can´t get one to Salta you can probably get a connecting one through Jujuy. La Quiaca to Salta is around 6 or 7 hours. To Jujuy is around 3 or 4.
In Salta there is a fantastic little hostel called Inti Huasi, Abraham Cornejo 120. If you ask in the bus station they will point you in the right direction. It´s walking distance. Staff could not be friendlier and the craic is mighty especially for the bbq nights. See hostelworld.com and hostelbookers.com for the high recommendations!
Best of luck you lucky thing!
