One of my friends works for Travel Counsellors, an independent travel business (a franchise, I think) and she uses Tucan Travel when they provide competitive quotes for her clients' needs. She says they are good. They are ATOL/ABTA bonded, so extra security...
Hope this helps!
Reply to this I think I am going to book with them, they seem good. Thanks!
Reply to this I've heard decent things about Tucan, I even looked them up when I visited Lima. But they were out of my budget, but I don't know if you have a strict budget or not. I personally went with a company called Karikuy, who set up tours however I wanted them and for a much better price. I'm sure it doesnt have the bells and whistles of Tucan, so I would just do some research based on your budget.
here's the website if youre interested: www.karikuy.org. they do good things for kids and the organisers name is Julio, super nice dude, speaks english, etc.
Reply to this I went with a company called river explorers, they arranged a trip called Inca Jungle to Machu Picchu including biking, rafting and trekking, which is very very recommendable if you want an alternative route to M.P.
They also arranged hotels and transfers, yes pratically everything we needed. Very serviceminded and helpful.
If you are interested their website are these: www.riverexplorers. com / www.perutrekexplorers.com
