I am feeling pretty good, because I just got another of my badly behind blogs done and it is a beautiful day outside - I may have to go for a walk.

I'm in one of those "a bit sad but not for any real reason" moods. I'm at home after more than a year away, but I don't have time to appreciate being with my family and to look back on the trip because I already have to think about finding freelance work to tide me over 'til the New Year, then finding a new job in Ukraine, then a new flat.... it's all so much easier when you're actually travelling! There's nothing to be sad about, but being at home doesn't make me feel as good as it used to, it actually brings my mood down a bit. Reply to this

I am still excited about my upcomming trip to India but slightly and unreasonably(because there is no reason for anything to go wrong. As far as I know, applying for an Indian tourist visa is relatively straight forward) anxious in case anything goes wrong with my visa application. Whenever, I have to wait for travel doccuments to arrive I spend the time twitching nervously in case anything goes wrong and I end up not being able to go to whichever country. :D I think it is about time India got a visa on arrival system with so many going there. I am feeling incredibly envious! I have a really bad case of itchy feet, and my husband has just come home from work and anounced that he may be off on work trips to Qatar, S.Africa and Vietnam over the next couple of months. As hes just started work for a new company, they won't for the time being, allow him to travel ecconomy so they can save on a business class ticket and pay for a ticket for me or my son to go too. He'll have to be with them a few months before he can swing that one, company policy, sods law the overseas work will dry up then! Although, if the Vietnam trip does come off, I may have to go along anyway, will start cutting back on the pennies tommorow just incase! Just on here checking out some Vietnam blogs and dreaming away.....

Mel, how close to going do you have to apply for an indian visa, just out of interrest? Reply to this

Usually the visas arrive back by mail in just around a week but if you go into the consulate you can get them in just a few hours. The visa time starts when the visa is issued so if you want to spend a lot of time in India it is best to apply just a couple of weeks before departure or a couple of days if it does not make you nervous to have no margain of error. The tourist visas are valid for 6 months so as long as you are out of India within 6 months of the visa issue date that is OK. And if you are applying for the visa soon before you go be sure to have any supporting doccuments you will need ready. Reply to this

I'm tired but happy too - tired because it's 3.21am and I haven't slept yet, happy because I have nothing to do tomorrow and the cricket from India is about to start on TV! Reply to this

I'm slightly depressed and just back from a week visiting friends in Bangkok. These days I find long distance travel to be more of a necessary hassle than an adventure, but it is always nice to get a complete change of pace and escape the miserable November rains as a bonus. Now more than ever I feel lost in between. Reply to this
