2,5 months to spend from Juni - August 2009, including liveaboard diving around Galapagos. any suggestions would be thankfully appreciated.
Hi,
My girlfriend and I am going to South America mid june 2009. I have surfed around on the travel forum, but it's hard to know what to plan.
The one thing we definitely want to do is diving Galapagos and visit the islands. I think about a week would be appropriate? If anyone has experience of doing a combined liveaboard diving trip with island visiting I would be gratefull for info too.
From there we would like to go hiking in Ecuador and do the Amazon. Do you think 2-3 weeks is enough? Sadly we can't manage to see all SA, but if we have 1-1,5 months after doing Ecuador and want to see Peru as well, could we still have time for seeing Bolivia or Chile/Argentina/Patagonia? And is it a bad time of year to go to Chile/Argentina/Patagonia in July/August?
I will hope for some input as I am one confused dane..
Kind regards
Karsten
Reply to this good idea in visiting Peru Kjeppesen, I´m going to Ecuador this december and I´m going to work in GUayaquil all the next year, I´ve got excellents friends there, they are friendly, and have good ideas as well.
Staying a month in Galapagos would be great.
Reply to this Hi,
Did a liveaboard last year in the Galapagos...book now! Your options are quite limites, there are the 2 Aggressors and the one from Peter Hugues...you can find more info on my blog.
You do want to dive Darwin's Arch and Wolf Island. I dive all around the world in 2008, and this was by far the most amazing I ever did.
If you go down to Argentina, or Chile, try to go skiing...really another amazing place...
If you need info on Peru, Argentina, or how to get around, let me know...only been something like 15 times to SA the last 6 years.
Have fun!
Peter
