currently im in cusco and plannimg to do manu/jungle trip which gets me back to cusco on the evening of the 11th.

what are my options....

the flight to quito is really expensive....$500

i know the bus from cusco to lima is about 22 hours.... so if i leave on the 12th i can be in lima on the 13th.... but then....
i cant seem to find the information whether there is a direct bus from lima to quito....
and if there is....how often does it leave....daily....
all the bus companies websites are in spanish and i cant figure it...

can someone please advise if the bus route im plannimg is feasible.
thanx. Reply to this

I'm not sure if there is a direct bus but we did a Lima to Piura to Loja to Cuenca bus in two days and there are Loja to Quito buses. Lima to Piura depends on the company but the more expensive ones like Cruz del sur are probably going to be more reliable. Piura to Loja is around 8 hours (with a very quiet border crossing at Macara so you don't have to brave the main one and takes far less time), Loja to Cuenca is 5ish hours and if you can get an overnight bus from Cuenca to Quito they tend to be quicker at only 8 hours as they don't stop like the buses during the day (which can be up to 12 hours.) Your route is feasible but you're going to be sick of buses by the end of the trip! Maybe best to get an overnight bus to Lima on the night of the 11th to give yourself more time. Reply to this
