Maybe somebody was in Costa Rica and knows the situation in this country. The main point - is it safe? I have heard lots of bad stories about traveling to Costa Rica. And I dont know trust it or not. Reply to this

Hi there,
I have never been to Costa Rica however I would like to say you never be afraid of anything. My friends and me never think much about the political or geographical conditions of the place, perhaps we just get info's on various attractions and the beautiful places. Don't be afraid just be there and enjoy your life....

Best Wishes,

Hi,
Costa Rica is pretty safe I'd say! There's petty crime there, perhaps more than the rest of central america, but you're probably less likely to get mugged or worse. Basically keep an eye on your bag at all times, especially on the beach and at bus stops, and you'll be ok. Reply to this

Costa Rica seemed very safe to me when I was there last month. Take the normal precautions - don't wander the streets late at night whilst lost and drunk - and you will be fine!

Have fun,

I was in costa rica and it seemed quite safe to me. Of course San Jose is a city so you want to use common sense and keep an eye on your belongings, but overall, i found the people to be very friendly and helpful. It is beautiful country and i don't think that the crime/safety level is high enough that it's worth missing! Reply to this

Very safe. We rented a car and went all over. We always felt safe. Reply to this
