Discussion about how China effects world politics.
China is very much in the news right now because of the Olympic games. This means that there will be many conversations on and off the internet about all aspects of China, good and bad.

I'm sure that few people have problems with individual Chinese people.
I am not qualified to discuss China and Tibet, or Cina and labour practice or China and the oppression of religions, bus as a person who travels a lot around Africa, I am however concerned with the way in which China is colonizing Africa.
In Uganda, Mozambiques and other countries, the Chinese goverment "donates" a piece of road, but does not use one bit of local labour, material or equipment and then leave the workers behind to start businesses.
In the Lesotho mountains, where the road ends, a Chinese commercial soldier sell subsidized Chinese-made plastic buckets to the local people. Something that should be made in Lesotho. These subidized shops are springing up in every village across the continent.
In Zimbabwe the Chinese government supports the dictator Robert Mugaba with weapons to use against his own people, in return for mining rights.
All over Africa corrupt politicians trade away they countries' resources for personal gain.
If things carry on this way, China will be the new imperialist in Africa and common Africans, enslaved, and with their natural assets stripped away.
So in my book Chinese OK, China bad.

Very true! People are entitled to their private opinions but in order for those opinions to hold any weight they must be based on reliable experience and/or information sources. Freedom of the press and freedom of speech increase the chances of valid opinions.
