Opinions about best cities/countries to live and teach English for a few months.

Hi all!

I'm very unfamiliar with South America, but becoming interested in teaching there for a few months or maybe longer. I'm hoping to hear from people that have travelled around S.A. about your favorite spots. I'm a girl in my young 20s looking for fun and a great, friendly environment. Also, what places are the most affordable from your experience? Thanks for your help! Reply to this

For teaching English big cities are your best bet. Buenos Aires and Quito were my favourites of the capital cities though if you want somewhere a little smaller, but equally nice, maybe try Salta (Arg), Sucre (Bolivia) or Cusco (Peru). Travelblog member rrruss taught English in Salta for a good while, he might have some useful contacts for you. Another couple I know easily found work in Cordoba teaching English.

In terms of cost, Bolivia is by far the cheapest place to live, followed by Paraguay, Argentina, Peru and Ecuador.

Good luck, Barry Reply to this
