Studying abroad in Argentina for 5 months. Do I need any immunizations? I plan on traveling quite a bit.
I am going to Buenos Aires to study abroad for 5 months. I plan on traveling around Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Any suggestions for meds to bring or any shots to get before I leave?
THANK YOU!

I cant remember which shots are necessary for those countries but the WHO (world health organisation) website is a good place to get information about that. If you need shots try to go to a Travel Clinic if there is one where you live because regular doctors tend to over vaccinate. Take the information from the WHO website with you even to a travel clinic, to double check it with what the clinic suggest.

Reply to this i just got my shots yesterday. (im traveling south america for my first time.. going for two months)
the ones i got were: yellow fever, hepA, and typhoid. hepB i got in high school so didnt need to get it (but if u didnt get it befre u should i think)
those above are the only ones need in my opinion.... the only other one the travel doctor sugested was malaria pills but thats only if u go into the amazon
Reply to this Hi,
Great answer form jrok...you HAVE to hapve hep A and B....for yellow fever, it's only if you go to the amazon and in other places in Brazil. You can always have it once there....once you have it last 10 years...just make sure you keep the proof you have it...I didn't, so I need a second shot after 5 years just to go to Africa. You are going to love BA...enjoy their diet...smile!
