2-day Inca Trail vs. 4-day Inca Trail?
16 years ago, May 24th 2008 No: 1 Msg: #36244
Hi there,
My friend and I are looking at doing the Inca Trail in early September. We have very limited time, so rather than doing the full 4-day Inca Trail, I was thinking we could just do the 2-Day Inca Trail instead (through sastravelperu.com). Has anyone done the 2-day, and will this be enough to see the main attractions and still have a great experience?
Thanks in advance for any comments! Reply to this

Hi Emma,

Welcome to TravelBlog.

I haven't done the 2 day trek, but I've done the 4 day one. I'd be more likely to drop one of the four countries than to rush through them all in 5 weeks, but if you're you're absolutely set on going to all 4 then maybe the 2 day trek would be better - either way don't miss MP :-) Reply to this

Thanks for your comment Jo.

Unfortunately I went to book the Inca Trail yesterday, and it is all booked up till the end of September! I am so disappointed!!

Does anyone have any recommedations for a 2-3 alternative tour??

Thanks!

The Salkantay one seems to be quite popular - not sure how many days it is though.

the Traditional inca trail is now booked up until 10th October or later!!!

Salkantay can be done in 5 days or 4 days... that might be a bit long.... though it is awesome.

an agency called apus peru offers two short treks of 2 days each then machu Picchu, it might be to your liking.

see

see what you think... for what you miss out on the inca trail you may gain in other aspects of your tour.
