Hola,
We arrived safely in Lima, Peru. Lima is located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Check it out on Google Earth. Even though it is on the coast and is humid (much like San Francisco's climate, it is still considered a desert because it receives very little rainfall. One third of Peru's population lives here. It was the capital center of Spain's new world empire, serving as the Vice Royalty until 1823. Pizzaro, the conquistador, founded tithe city in 1543.
Today is a holiday commemorating St. Peter &St. Paul. Debbie and I are just leaving to attend a special mass in the cathedral. This afternoon we will have a guided tour of the city.
Adios - Ms. E., Patty, Mom, Nana
