Feeding FrenzyFeeding FrenzyFeeding Frenzy

Lots and lots of pelicans trying to get a bite to eat on the Pacific shore.
Hello

I cannot seem to get my pictures to download lately and until I figure what is wrong, no pictures.

We left for our tour to the Ballestas Islands at 8 am. It began at the beach where loads of people were waiting for the same tour and we had time to kill before the boats arrived for us. The tour operators had big bags of fish that they were feeding the pelicans and we were able to get some fantastic photos with hoards of pelicans. It was really great but Macayla was scared, she would not get near them. We then left for the tour and were able to see penquins, sea lions and various other bird life. Plus, we were able to see the famous three-pronged Candelabra, a giant figure etched in the side of one of the islands. I believe it dates to around 400 AC however I may be a little off because I have heard so many dates while traveling that they sort of run together. On our way back to the mainland, we ran out of gas and had to wait for another boat (1 hour) to bring gas out. Macayla was not

impressed with the tour and could have done without it. Oh well, can´t win them all.
We then purchased bus tickets to Nazca that left around 5 pm. We were able to make reservations before we left for a hostel that was suggested to us by the previous place called the Walk On Inn. They were there to pick us when we arrived. Very glad for that because I prefer that when it is late at night. We got in around 10 pm and our first room was awful. It had sort of a bamboo or reed type roofing that was moldy and the odor was not good. I had to ask for another room and she gave us one that did not have that type of roofing but one of the beds was so hard it felt like you were on stone flooring so we slept together in the other twin bed. Next time I will be sure to check each bed before I agree to the room.
