The walk to Macchu Picchu from Aguas Calientes took me around an hour to an hour and a half. Your time will vary depending on your pace and level of endurance. There's a shuttle that takes you there, but I opted to walk. It was a strenuous walk. There were diverse groups of people at Macchu Picchu; religious, adventurers and regular travelers. I ran into these kids at Machu Picchu. They were college student looking for opportunity to practice their English. They were working on a career in tourism. We hung out for a bit. They showed me how to get to the Inka Trail. I was suspicious that they was looking for tips. But the subject of money never came up. They insisted that we do the Karate Kid pose. Their only exposure to Asian portrayal in Pop culture. I found it amusing.
