The coastal journey from Cartagena to Santa Marta took us through some very authentic and deprived areas. Very much feels like a different country in comparison to Medellin. Overtaking safety fairly low, apparently oncoming traffic isn’t an issue. We stopped half way for a suspect looking cheesy pastry.

Arrival at Dreamer Hotel, a completely different vibe awaited us. £1 beers, £2 wines and happy hour along with Salsa.

Chatted to many people from all over the world but my favourite being our US friend who asked, “is Pablo Escobar a poet?” He looked like that guy from Three Wives, One Husband.

Day spent lounging by the pool, which felt very Love Island. Love triangles everywhere and I just felt like Caroline Flack‘s older and wiser version.
