Beautiful Santiago

We really like Santiago. With 6 million people it's not nearly as big as Buenos Aires, nor does it have the history, but it has a freshness about it. There's tons of stuff to do and beautiful neighborhoods to stroll through day or night with cute little eclectic cafes.

We rented an apartment in el centro just blocks from the presidential palace and the main square, so everything was either a short walk or a metro ride away.

But I am sooooo far behind on this blog I'm just going to post some pictures and let it go at that. I'm getting behinder and behinder.

Illegal vendors line the bridge
Selling ceviche under the hot sun without refrigeration or ice. I think I'll pass.

A solid block of fruit and vegetable sellers. Heaven.

Not dots
The black circles are actually where holes have been drilled in the wall of the restaurant to make it look like bubbles. Notice the name.

Tea con leche
Tea with milk, Chilean style. You get a cup of hot milk and a tea bag. It's no use telling them you only want a teeny bit of milk. Nope. That gets you a cup of milk and a tea bag also. It's really, really good this way but not very figure friendly.
