We awoke at 8 am and got ready so we could meet Alexandra and her husband at 9 am. He had to work in the afternoon, so we would explore a little until then. We met up inside the Santa Lucia metro station and then went to the top of Cerro Santa Lucia, which translates to "hill". The climb to the top is easy and there are awesome views from up there. There are different monuments and fountains to see during the climb up the steps. We stayed at the top for 10-15 minutes taking in the massive city below us. It was overcast so you could not see the Andes Mountains very clearly.

When we went back down, we walked down some city streets to Plaza de Armas and visited the Metropolitan Cathedral, and the National Post Office.

In the early afternoon, we ate lunch at a place called Marco Polo, near Plaza de Armas. None of us thought it was that great. After lunch we walked down to the University of Chile metro station and they went on the metro back home so he could go to work. My family and I walked down the street to La Moneda Palace, which is the seat of the President of Chile. There was a protest going on but it was peaceful. In the late afternoon, we went back to our apartment and rested up a little.

In the evening we took the metro to Manuel Montt station because we had read about a place called Doner House, in which we could get some good shawarma. When we arrived though, the place did not look too good so we passed. Just down the street, we saw a Chinese place that looked decent and gave it a try.

It was called China Solar. We ended up getting a set meal for three that consisted of wontons, rice, mongolian beef, chicken chow mein, and chicken egg foo young. It was very good and very filling too. I had some Austral beers to drink.

After the dinner we saw and ice cream place and went in to get a scoop. I had a flavor called congo and it was chocolate with candied orange pieces in it. Very good! The ice cream shop is called Bravissimo and has several locations around town. Now we were stuffed, so time to get the metro and walk back to our apartment and burn off some of these calories.

We went to sleep to get ready for the next day.
