Rosario is fairly close to Buenos Aires, 3 hours by bus so after staying only one night in BA we got the morning bus and planned to stay there for 3-4 nights before returning back to BA where we left are main bags so we could travel nice and light.

One of the main reasons for coming here was because the Lonely planet described it as "one of the most perfect cities and we should all be there now!" So with that advice we had to see what all the fuss was about. The bus journey was nice and easy and we managed to find our hostel with no problems and decided to explore the city.

The weather was glorious and it was nice walking down the water front but saw nothing too outstanding. We then went to see some of the famous local sights one being a war memorial with the ever present respect to Isla Malvinas (Falklands). It was an impressive building with Greek and Roman influences, towering columns and marble statues. We had a walk around the centre and were starting to wonder what the LP saw in this place as there was nothing that wanted us to be "here right now"! We later decided to leave the next day as didn’t want to waste any time but then later again after a few drinks changed it again as we thought we should give the place a chance and we would explore more the next day.

We shouldn’t have bothered and to top it off the weather changed and it was pissing it down! All we did was walk around aimlessly going from one old and impressive colonial building to the next but nothing amazing and stopping ever so often to dry of in a cafe bar. The highlight for me was seeing Newell’s Old Boys stadium, one of the teams in the top division and named by ex-pupils of the English High School of Rosario and abbreviated to NOB, class!! some of the players that used t play for them, ex Man Utd player Gabriel Heinze, the more famous Argentine all time goal scorer holder Gabriel Batistuta and the best player in the world Maradona made one of his many comebacks with them

After only 2 nights here we went back to Buenos Aires.
