Finally we again had a day where we could sleep as long as we wanted, and we well used it. There was nothing really to do for us so we just spent whole day messing around and that is it. We did not mind or moan at all. It is summer, but there was a strong cold wind so thanks to sun shining the whole day it wasnt very cold.... read more

Skusali sme stopovat a opat mali stastie, mlady anglicky par v prenajatom aute nas zobral az do Bariloche.

Zase nas cekal vystup do sedla k laguna Schmoll, odtud pak jeste dalsi kratky vystup a potom uz dolu.

Bariloche is an ideal place to recover and to relax after the very long journey up the Ruta 40. I did not get up to too much as I wanted to take it nice and easy during my stay. I stayed in a lovely Hostel, Hostel Inn Bariloche. It is a new hostel that opened last November and it is good value for money because it included dinner as well as breakfast which helps the budget immensely! At first, I was not sure but this was down to tiredness and disorientated on my arrival. The hostel, however, grew on me and I actually extended my stay. Initially, I was going to spend a couple of days in El Bolsen but decided to stay on in Bariloche instead. So glad I did because the hostel has a ... read more

Nakoniec sme sa dostali do refugia Frey, ... read more

Bariloche je jedno z najdrahsich miest v Argentine a bolo to vidiet, vsade nadherne obchody s krasne vyzerajucimi cokoladovymi pochutkami, butiky a drahe hotely.

Day 16-19 After being stuck at the border for almot 2 hours we finally make it to Hostel El Poncho in Bariloche late evening. Now Bariloche is kinda like a cross between the lake district back home and switzerland but on a much larger scale, instead of hills you have mountains/volcanoes and the lakes are like mini oceans. Anyway after looking round the ample amount of chocolate and clothes shops we decided to spend the next day hiking in the national park area. So knowing we had a 8am start so we stayed in and cooked the rest of our pasta for dinner. We shared some conversation, wine and raspberries with a Dutch guy called Thomas, who bizarrely had been to Harrogate 3 times! The bus collected us at 8am and we set off towards the ... read more

Wowie! well we have officially made it into argentina! (this keyboard does exclamation points... so brace yourselves!) we are in bariloche, argentina. beautiful does not even begin to decribe this place! google it... it is unreal! rocky spires, unreal ranges, crystal blue lakes, lush green forests... ah-mazing! we took a bus from puerto montt to bariloche through the andes which was as the crow flys only around three hours but with winding roads and boarder crossings it was around eight. we made it across the boarder without any hassle at all... in fact our bags didn´t even get touched. that night we found ourselves a nice little pizzaria... pizza is big here. the local specialities are trout and boar... we had boar pizza...which was actually quite nice... aly and i joked with nick that we would ... read more

Bariloche is a ski town in winter and an outdoor centre in the summer. It has a strong Germanic influence (there is a Swiss village) and enjoys a beautiful aspect with high mountains surrounding it on 3 sides and lake Nahuel Huari on the other. We had an active time here, after spending one day walking round the town doing laundry, speaking to parents as well as seeing some sights. Our second day we spent cycling around some of the beautiful lakes nearby, we did about 40k including the Swiss settlement (which is very odd and not all that Swiss), some beautiful lakes and some fairly steep hills. The next day we were flying to Buenos Aires in the evening and spent the morning kayaking on the lake. We were lucky that we were the only ... read more

Direkt am See Guiterrez. ... read more
