Well it is wednesday now. But I guess I should start with where I left off on the weekend.

On Saturday during the day The shops are are closed during most of the day. It is those strange spanish times to do things. So I mostly wondered around the city taking in the sites and taking photos Which maybe I will figure out how to publish here but I think I need to put them on the Disc. In the evening on saturday, I was invited to a special dinner at Lornezos house. He lives near the university campus. It of course started later then it was supposed to. We had sauages and bread they really know how BBQ here the saugages are a local speciality. We had lots of wine champaigne ect. The house was really beautiful. It belongs to his parents. It had a lit pool and a beautiful garden. The rooms were very nice. His father travels for work so many of the things in the house were from all over south America, and Since Lorenzo is studying enterior design and his mom is an architech, all of things are nice and arranged beautifully.

I met Bebas Crazy uncle they call him "Loco teto", he is a sweet old man. The party was interesting as far as the guests. Lorenzo who is all of 21, had mostly older people there. I was the next youngest besides him. The loco teto was about 65, 70. Most of the other people were in their 50´s and 60´s I am coming to realize that the age of friends and relatives here does not really matter here, it is more about the interests and what you have in commom that builds the relationships. Or maybe it is just beba. Who knows. Her family´s kids all hang out at her place. It makes for a nice place to stay. At any rate, I listened to spanish all night and was able to say a few things. One of the cats decided that I would make a nice bed and decided that I must miss Ezra so she was on my lap most of the evening. The evenings dinner ended at 3 am. I did meet a women at the party who wanted to arrange a camping trip with me, and go to a place a bit more remote. Only the locals know. I am so totally game She will be getting back to me with her scheldule.

When we were drivng home, the bars were just opening, and the streets were busy. It seemed like the city had a different life, again. I however, went to bed.

The next day, I went for coffee and met the "loco teto" in the streets he joined me for coffee and I tryed to have a conversation in spanish well I tryied. He and Lorenzo went back to bebas and the Loco Teto made a great dinner ok it was lunch. He is a wonderful cook. The lunches take some time here actually most of the meals do. In the afternoon lorenzo and I went walking to the Artistanas market which they set up in the square we were early of course. Becuase I was there and I don{t know when anything is suppose to happen. So we enjoyed a sidewalk cafe coffee, we later did some shopping and the stuff was pretty nice.

Lorenzo was looking for specific Antigues, they open those places on the weekend as well. The whole place was filled people and the atmoshpere was festive. I purchased one thing then we went out for some dinner of course too early at about 9. so only place to go was the mall for food. It was fun to try to learn a few words in spanish from Lorenzo however, I think he was actuaally getting better at his english. I returned home.

Well It is now the weekday. I am feeling better about the classes at least and far as the menbers in the classes. I have been having lunch with two older women in the classes the last two days. One is from england and the other one is from Scotland. They will be leaving however in about a one to two weeks The class will be different in the in the next two weeks because the holidays will be over for the Brazilains as well.

I have made some plans to go horseback riding with the Women from Scotland over the weekend. And on thursday I will be going to the country in the afternoon. One of the places we stop is Che Cherrva house. He won{t be there of course, but it will be interesting to see the place since I did read the Motorcycle diaries.

As for the lannguage classes I am begining to think this is so difficult to pick up as we are older. I will of course not give up, however. The langauge has so many concepts that seem foriegn to me. Like the verb tenses, who does what to whom, if they are male or female if they have a soul, if they do these things at the same time, or they are not connected. What kind of location it is perminate or semi perminate. Oh I so wished I paid attention more in school. Well I am off to do some studying and pickup laundry it is really hot today. Tonight I am going to finally go out to the house where the young brazilians are staying. THere is a birthday party for one of them And she really is a very nice girl. YOU can tell she wants many people to celebrate it with her. So it is time to see a different side of the school.

I have been spending the evening With Beba and that has been very nice and a rewardng experience. Well I am off Till next time. Rebecca
