National Palace of Queluz

One of the horses of the Portuguese School of Equestrian Art, based in the Gardens of the National Palace of Queluz. It has as its mission to conserve and promote the Alter Real-bred Lusitano horse and uphold the Portuguese tradition of Haute École through the selection, training and exhibition of Pure Blood Lusitano horses from the Alter Real Stud Farm. It is an equestrian cultural heritage that remains unique in the world. The current school was founded in 1978.

We decided we needed a trip outside of Lisboa today, and settled on a visit to the National Palace of Queluz. It was an easy 20 minute trip by train from the Rossio Station, which is a 20 minute walk from our apartment. We used our transit cards, so it's even easier!
