Downtown Edinburgh

It was 6:00 pm when we rolled into the center of Edinburgh. Our hotel, the Cairn Hotel, was on the outskirts of the theater district. It wasn't the most interesting part of town but it was on a rather quiet side street. The hotel itself was rather old and a little worn. But scaffolding outside my bedroom window told me they were at least trying to modernize the place. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. If only there were some air conditioning. Once again we were back in the hot, hot city.
Day Nine (On to Edinburgh)

I made the mistake of watching the morning TV news. The weather report promised more record high temperatures all over Europe. Luckily for us Scotland's record high temps would only reach the upper 80's instead of the near 100's further South.
