Tuesday pulled into Salay a 7,000 resident village founded in 13thCentury with very British colonial feel with lovely preserved old buildings and in fact our tour director has renovated a beautiful building and it now houses a museum, restaurant and shop. Salary etc.
Just read my evening " blog" ,very interesting as usual .! ! ! Older buildings are beautiful Two boys in picture , young Novice Monks , how old were they ? They look far too young to be doing what they are . But ! I believe they start very young .Proccession would have been interesting ,I guess , & very colourful as well .events like that ,in other country's are good to see , but then Australia seldom have such things .sunny & warm today , change coming they tell us . Thanks again for your update , very interesting . Cheers for now , Oh ! Had card from your parents today ,which was good to hear fro them . Love. Norma x

Lovely to hear from you, we are yet to find out what salary the boat boys get but John onto it, they not allowed to discuss it, so must be very low! The novice monks we reckon they were about 8-10 years old....far too young! Last night on the boat tonight then head to Yangon (Rangoon) xx
