This beautiful cathedral was first built in 1560. It suffered many earthquakes, volcano eruptions and fires (as recently as 2001) but was always rebuilt and is still stunning. Were planning on going to mass and having a tour, but it was closed the Sunday we went due to voting to the national e.lection
Arequipa April 10th 2016 It's hard to believe that we have only been in this beautiful country of Peru for only a week. It took us a long time to get here (boring details) but left Canada on April 4 and arrived in Arequipa on April 6.
