Fairy Chimney Churches

The walk down through Pigeon Valley from Uçhisar ended with a tour of more ancient churches. Just like in the Göreme Open Air Museum, they were carved from the rock, only these were in the spires above ground and were not in as good of shape since they weren't in a protected and closed area. No paintings, but great views out the windows.

Now I know why everybody raves about Cappadocia, or Kapadokya, if you like the Turkish way of spelling everything phonetically. It really is a beautiful and very unique place.
