After dinner one evening we walked up the hill above the east side of town, kind of like walking up Camel's Back Park in Boise, except with totally different scenery. You can see the plateau where we started the balloon ride on the right. We floated left around the butte towards the plain behind it.

Now I know why everybody raves about Cappadocia, or Kapadokya, if you like the Turkish way of spelling everything phonetically. It really is a beautiful and very unique place.
