Our welcome luncheon at camp with Craig, the camp manager, Fred, and I. Creamy tomato soup, focaccia, grilled rib, potato with duck, vegie quiche, tomato/halumi/cuke salad, cheeses of all sorts, banana mousse - all homemade by a wonderful chef named "Franco Crocodile".

An air of excitement fills the small plane for our 1 hour flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara airstrip. I am seated beside a Spanish naturalist who specializes in large cats and snakes.
