Tourist Trap

Just because I never heard of the Greyfriars Bobby story doesn't mean there aren't millions of fans. That became obvious when Kate led us to this spot just outside the entrance to the churchyard. Not only is there a pub dedicated to the pup's memory, but there is also this nifty non-operating fountain. At one time the fountain dispensed cooling libations to humans from the spigots just below the doggie statue and to their canine companions from a trough at the bottom.

Flying over to Scotland was a breeze. Actually there was a definite lack of a breeze as the Gulf Stream seemed to have disappeared. El NiƱo was wreaking havoc with weather patterns both in the States and throughout Europe.
