Bordering the large graveyard were rowhouses featuring rows and rows of chimney pipes jutting up into the snowy sky. At this point our guide who had told us she had a history degree made me doubt her credentials - after telling us about the consecration of this church on Christmas Eve 1620, she asked our group if anyone knew the significance of the same date in American history. When no one answered I burst out with "Jamestown". Kate then said "No one has ever gotten that right before." Two seconds after it came out of my mouth I realized I had said the wrong thing; it was the arrival of the Pilgrim's at Plymouth Rock. Later Tyler and Gail confirmed that I was wrong. I guess none of the other Yanks on her tours gave that same wrong answer.

Flying over to Scotland was a breeze. Actually there was a definite lack of a breeze as the Gulf Stream seemed to have disappeared. El NiƱo was wreaking havoc with weather patterns both in the States and throughout Europe.
