Hiroshima Peace Park

This is when I started crying... outlines the story of Sadako, a girl who survived the bombing when she was 2, but developed leukaemia 10 years later. She had heard the Japanese story that if you make 1000 paper cranes your wish will be granted, but she only got to 750 before she died. Her classmates finished the rest of the cranes and gathered sponsorship to have a memorial put in the Peace Park for all the children affected by the bomb. There are rooms with millions and millions of cranes sent from children all over the world.
Miyajima and Hiroshima

Okay, get ready for it, this is going to be a bit of a marathon, but if you get tired reading it, imagine me cramming it all into one weekend.
