Today we left Paekakariki very early (in the dark!) and drove to Wellington to catch the early ferry across to Picton on the South Island. Our voyage took us through the awesome Malborough Sounds where we saw several groups of dolphins and some spectacular scenery. We started this travel blog in 2005 when we set off on a ten-month around-the-world trip with a couple of backpacks and not much else. In 2008, we emigrated to New Zealand with four suitcases and a guitar and spent the first month travelling throughout the country, from Auckland to Christchurch, via a roundabout route.
