Sears Roebuck House

This wood house was purchased from Sears, Roebuck & Co. in 1911 for an approximated cost of $5000. The house was shipped by rail to La Coste, hauled to Castroville by horse and wagon, and then assembled by local carpenters. It stayed in the Tondre family until the original owner's son, Elton died at 95 in 2016.

We spent a night in Stockton, TX on our way to San Antonio, TX. We glamped at Alsatian RV Resort in Castroville. We learned about a self-guided walking tour of the town from our RV neighbor.
