Ponte Rodoviária da Régua, a concrete highway bridge across the Douro River. Originally built in 1934 as Ponte Ferroviária da Régua, a railway bridge for the Lamego Line. After construction of the Régua-Lamego line was cancelled in 1939, the bridge was converter for vehicular traffic. DSC_0992p1

I would be remiss if I did not include a blog entry about Peso da Régua. Régua, with a population of some 17,100 is the largest of the riverside towns and the gateway to the Douro wine region.
