New Cathedral - Capilla Mayor

Catedral Nueva - New Cathedral. Capilla Mayor - Main Chapel (altar). The Main Chapel, built in the second half of the 18th century is topped by a lavish polychrome and gold vault, which covers the tabernacle made by the Churrigueras as an architectural canopy. Today, presiding over the enclosure, under a velvet hanging, it preserves an image of the Assumption made in 1624 by Esteban de Rueda. IMG_8253
