Grey Heron / Blauwe reiger

Deze blauwe reiger stond te vissen aan het kanaal. Hij bleef zomaar staan terwijl we er langs liepen. This grey heron was fishing along the Marne canal. It just stayed there while we were walking past. For our NZ readers, this heron is about 40-50% larger than our white faced heron.

A short day today, 18.9 kms. Temperature at arrival 27 degrees. We didn’t walk as much alongside the canal as we thought we would yesterday. We did follow it, but the track was far enough away from it for at least half the time so that we could not see it.
