Marne kanaal / Marne canal

Het Marne kanaal dat parallel loopt aan de rivier de Marne. Dit kanaal is gegraven omdat de Marne rivier hier vrijwel onbevaarbaar is. Het is 67 km lang en is gebouwd van 1836 tot 1846. The Marne canal that runs parallel to the Marne river. This canal was created because the Marne river is not really navigable here. It is 67 kms long and was built between 1836 and 1846.

A short day today, 18.9 kms. Temperature at arrival 27 degrees. We didn’t walk as much alongside the canal as we thought we would yesterday. We did follow it, but the track was far enough away from it for at least half the time so that we could not see it.
