Altar of the Saint Joseph Chapel

Basiliek Sint Servaas - Basilica of Saint Servatius. Altar of the Saint Joseph Chapel. The neo-Gothic altar consists of a predella with an image of the Holy Face and a five-part altarpiece. In the center is a statue of Saint Joseph with the Infant Jesus on his arm. The panels on either side show reliefs depicting the flight into Egypt and Joseph's dream. The outer panels show paintings of the Holy Family in Joseph's carpentry workshop and the betrothal of Joseph and Mary in the synagogue. DSC_0153

Our lunch stop en route to Bastogne and then Luxembourg was Maastricht. I knew of Maastricht as the venue of the Treaty of Maastricht and its role in creating the EU, but little else about it.
