Sint-Janskerk

Sint-Janskerk (St. John's Church). Built in the 15th Century, the church became Protestant in 1663. The distinctive tower is 250 feet high. Vrijthof 24. "The Protestant Church, formerly the baptistery of the cathedral (St. Janskerk), is in its present form a late-Gothic structure of the 15th century. It became the Protestant church in 1663. Our lunch stop en route to Bastogne and then Luxembourg was Maastricht. I knew of Maastricht as the venue of the Treaty of Maastricht and its role in creating the EU, but little else about it.
