Klimsenkapelle

Klimsenkapelle - Klimsen Chapel at 6115 ft. (1864 m) on the Klimsenhorn. The chapel was built in 1861 as part of the Hotel Klimsenhorn. Both Richard Wagner and Queen Victoria visited the hotel and chapel. The hotel was demolished in 1967, the chapel restored in 2002. The chapel is at the junction of two hiking trails leading from Hergiswil and Fräkmüntegg to Mount Pilatus. Mt. Pilatus, 6,982 feet (2,128 m) overlooks Lucerne. Our objective today was to travel to the peak. Yvette mapped out the route for us, a combination of boat, cog railway, aerial tramway and bus!
