Up around 9a and went and ate breakfast. Then played Rummikub until noon – ate lunch and went to see a movie – “The Magic of Belle Isle” with Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen. Excellent movie! I highly recommended it for everyone. Read until time to get ready for dinner. Tonight was formal night so we had to dress up a little – most just wore black pants with a fancy shirt/blouse. Had a group picture of all 10 of us on the grand staircase and then went to dinner. After dinner we went to see comedian, Darrell Joyce, and a ventriloquist, Jimmy Tamley. Jimmy was good and pretty funny – I didn’t care for Darrell at all. Now it’s time to turn in as I’m getting an early wakeup call for an 8 am spa ... read more

Up early for an 8:00 am seaweed wrap & massage - 2 hours of heaven. Then up to breakfast and started playing “golf” for most of the day. Veteran’s Day celebration and memorial on board today – 2 minutes of silence, wreath in piazza and memorial service this afternoon. Drinks before dinner with Barb & Gary and dinner with the gang. Watched 2 World Champion Ballroom Dancers do 2 dances. Nothing else going on and time goes back again tonight. Let’s see what tomorrow has in store for us – Captain said we could have high winds and rough sea.... read more

Pago Pago America Samoa Talofa- from Pago Pago. Pronounced Pango Pango. The "G" is pronounced with the "N" sound as well. November 9th, 2012is a rainy day on the island. Our ship arrived early in the morning to many waves from happy smiles from the locals with energetic music that made you want to dance. I found America Samoa a conflicted island with much potential. The inhabitants are either Catholic or Mormon LDS. But yet hold their island heritage and belief of their gods in their hearts. They can only marry with permission from their local chief. They wish for higher education but only have a community college with a 2 year Associate Degree. And with very limited enrollment. They praise their island to be pristine, but there is garbage every where. They don't have a ... read more

Woke up at a decent time this morning and went and ate breakfast. Then to the Spa for almost 2 hours for a bamboo and hot stones along with reflexology (feet, hands, and scalp) massage. Then found the gang and played cards. Some were playing RummiKub. Thought I might wash today, but Judy reported people were fighting over getting a washer or dryer so thought I’d wait another day – still have 3 more sea days before Bermuda. Dinner and now in my room getting ready for bed. Early wake up for spa treatment at 8 am.... read more

Evening everyone, we have had another wonderful day here on the Adriatic Sea, we awoke this morning to find that we had land in view out of the window and the sun shining it was a glorious day already. As we sailed in we were priviledged to experience the wonderful fjords that welcomed us as we travelled through them into Kotor that is a true gem within the Adriatic Sea. The Captain explained to us re these Fjords and very nicely provided us with a view of this beautiful church that is on an island and is in fact the only thing on that island, it was very quaint and beautiful and I said to Col imagine going to church on a Sunday by boat. We travelled out of that fjord onto another waterway, the water ... read more

Ship life Here we are a week into our 19 night voyage and everything is in full swing. Everybody has pretty much found their groove. This is why I think a seven night cruise is too short. It takes a few days to settle in. The passengers are now accustomed to the ship and where things are. People know one another now. I can walk from one end of the pool deck to the other and catch people waving and smiling to me. The crew now addresses me by "Miss Eileen" which I prefer, opposed to "Madame", which I loathe. I can walk up to most bars now and they know I am going to want my caffeine free diet coke. The crew's mantra is "let me take care of you". Giving me permission to be ... read more

Well yesterday I said that Split was beautiful well tonight I have to tell you that Dubrovnik is amazing lots of wow moments again today.. and I was told at dinner time by one of the senior staff on board that tomorrow is another amazing day. Col and I awoke as the ship backed into its parking spot at the pier beside a massive suspension bridge which was most impressive as a first glance out of the window at 8.30am as well as being in front of two other cruise liners... mmm first time we have arrived into a port where there have been two other cruise ships already docked and I wondered what the city was going to be like with so many people trying to get around however I think they must have been ... read more

Can’t believe it – I slept till noon – tried an inside cabin this time and don’t like it. Can’t tell day from night so I don’t know when to get up and there is no fresh air. I didn’t even hear Roxie leave this morning and when she came back, I asked the time – she said noon. WOW, guess my body wants to sleep. Went to the spa and made quite a few spa appointments starting today with an oxygenating/microdermabrasion facial. My face feels like a baby’s face. Went to dinner and then the show – Motor City. I’ve seen it before on the Baltic cruise – I really enjoyed it and I believe some of the dancers and singers were even the same. Now in bed trying to catch up on my blogs. ... read more

Well I don't know about Col but I had an amazing sleep last night and even better as we had a sleep in this morning as our boat wasn't docking until 10am this morning so the tour couldn't start until 10.30am. Our breakfast was bought up to us and we decided we would eat it on our balcony, very posh..... the sun was shining the sea was sparkling and we could see the many islands that make up this area as we slowly moved forwards towards Split. A wonderful way to start the day I could get use to this... Having docked we got onto our bus for a trip to the old city of Split, the town of Trogir and then onto a little village for some traditional food, wine and music... I have to ... read more

This morning we docked in Ravenna in Italy about 7.30am and Col and I were off the ship by about 8.30am for our tour. We were off to San Marino a medieval township which is an independant Republic and sits on the top of a mountain top. It was about 1.5hrs drive by bus from the township of Ravenna, it was wonderful as we drove up the hillside to see the turrets of the township sitting on top of the mountain. It was like walking around a town that was in a timewarp, I loved every moment of it, this little republic is the 3rd smallest in the world and has their own coins and holds elections every four years to appoint their political decisionmakers, and if they dont like what they do they can change ... read more
