Bumblebee and Mambo at the Christmas Eve Luncheon for staff (after they handed out gifts with santa)
Well, it was an interesting Christmas.

Christmas Eve day, they had a special Christmas Dinner for the crew in one of the restaurants onboard. Although it wasn’t your typical Christmas dinner, we did manage to find some turkey and had some good potato salad and Chinese rice as well!

Christmas Eve I was assigned to late night, which we only have to stay for if parents sign up (and pay additional) for us to watch the kids from 10:30pm until 1:30am. Wouldn’t you know that I had to stay with one child for the whole 3 hours because some parents signed their child up for late night… on Christmas Eve! I did manage to get down to the crew bar with my friends eventually; however my time was cut short due to 2am curfew.

Christmas morning was a bit disappointing for everyone, as it was too windy to tender to the private island, which meant Christmas at sea. The morning in the kids korner was a fairly quiet one. Not a lot of children came until the afternoon, as they were most likely with their families.

In the afternoon we dressed like elves and met Santa downstairs

to help give gifts to the kids onboard. I think the staff had more fun dressing as elves than the kids did seeing santa!

At night, we took the kids to the Christmas show put on by the production cast. The kids got to perform a couple special numbers at the end of the show. They were super cute.

After program was finished for the evening, kids korner staff exchanged gifts with our secret santas. Mocha (Monique, Bahamas) gave me an awesome red, leather day planner. I LOVE it. Then after much unnecessary drama between some staff, we were ready to unwind with a few drinks. Steph, Nicole, and I toasted to Christmas with a bottle of wine.

It was a slightly hectic Christmas but I managed to call home as well as to Walt in Honduras - was nice to hear some familiar voices. I’m feeling slightly homesick and am definitely ready to head home in just over 2 weeks. Ship life is starting to be a bit too much for me - such close quarters. It’s been fun, but perhaps I’m destined for other things 
