Helloooo everybody! After leaving Cobram and sitting on a bus for three and a half hours i arrived in Melbourne city centre. My first port of call was Melbournes beachy suburb of St Kilda. I was booked into a hostel there for three days to chill out for a bit and relax my aching bones. However my journey wasnt quite as easy as it probably should have been. i stumbled across the tram stop for St Kilda beach, which was where my hostel was, and climbed through the door of what felt like a moving sauna, and that i should have been wearing just a towel and definately not my big backpack. After making the mistake of getting off about thirty stops to early i decided that insted of wait for the next tram ill just ... read more

A couple days after I posted my last blog entry, I left the orchard. I wish I had some funny story to tell you, like I got fired for throwing apples or something, but unfortunately I don't. I left because my allergies were killing me on the farm, and after a week of sneezing 24 hours a day I just had to get out of there. I honestly wouldn't have left otherwise, apple picking is garbage but we met some cool people. Actually come to think of it, it was only the 2 Irish guys that were cool. Other than them, there was a Japanese couple who barely spoke english and would pick the apples on Alan's trees, a weird Finnish guy who wore a shoelace around his leg and thought everyone was stealing his bread, ... read more

Ahoy there, shipmates! Last week we were beating to windward on a port tack and doing 8 knots when the waves came crashing over the bow. “A reef in the mainsail - and fast!” cried the captain of the “Maniac” - a recovering alcoholic complete with 16’’ liver transplant scar and a diabetic disorder that caused him to fall asleep at inappropriate and crucial moments. Our brave sailors had to clamp themselves to the jackstay to keep from going overboard as they toiled in rough seas to bring down the main and furl the jib. And still it kept coming - wave upon wave of….. well, waves, I suppose. In case you at a loss to comprehend, we’ve been completing our RYA sailing training this week and can now claim to be Competent Crew - we ... read more

:) sain siis uuden ystävän! sit se äiti ... read more

Went to the Huka Falls and Craters of the Moon. You could hear the falls before you could even see them - amazing to see as all the water is squeezed through a crevasse around 5 metres wide. ... read more

As we have come to learn......... YOU ARE ONLY AS FIT AS THE HILLS OF NZ TELL YOU YOU ARE AND THE HILLS OF NZ ARE ONLY AS FLAT AS HOW FIT YOUR BODY TELLS YOU YOU ARE.! Well we have been pluging along quite well. Our time in Kaikoura turned out to be pretty quiet, no dolphins, no sharks. As it turned out it is very important to book these trips well ahead of time, even though it is no longer peak season. We did get in a nice hike with a trip to the nearby fur seal colony. Most of the seals couldn't have cared less that we were hanging around, they just laid in the sun like sleeping dogs. There were a couple clowns though who really seemed to enjoy the attention, making ... read more

Ive spent the past few days with vera and ron, they are amazing hosts. They took me to all sorts of sights where I was able to get more beautiful views of the sydney area. They also took me to a provincial park where the sun came out over a beautiful setting of Lion Island and Palm Beach. Unfotrunately, all I really wanted to do was sleep; I was running on two crappy hours of on and off sleep. Apparantly Im allergic to something in the air near their house. I couldn't breath all night as my lungs had tightened up and all I could make was a wheezing sound all night. I felt terrible that as they showed me all this scenery, all I wanted to do was sleep or at best, breathe. By the ... read more
